2005 AUSTRALIAN BLUES MUSIC AWARDS FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

Category Finalists in the 2005 Australian Blues Music Awards were released in Goulburn on Thursday 6th January 2005.

The awards, to recognise excellence in Australian Blues Music, will be presented on Thursday 10th February as a precursor to the 9th annual Australian Blues Music Festival to be held in the Goulburn from the 11th 13th February.

Finalist nominations are spread across the various performers such is the quality if the product entered in this years awards.

Melbourne-based Kerri Simpson has two nominations (Female Vocal & Song of the Year) as do fellow Victorians Ash Grunwald (Male Vocal & Album of the Year), Jeff Lang (Male Vocal & Song of the Year) and Lloyd Spiegel (Male Vocal & Duo or Group of the Year).

Industry Veteran, Joe Camilleri, has one nomination in the Male Vocal category while newcomer, Anni Piper (Female Vocal & New Talent), has garnered two.

Overall nominations for the Awards were up no less than 52% on 2004.
